      10.05 Patient Confidentiality Policy: In accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), all customers using the services of the Division of Visual and Instructional Design must complete a form ensuring that all materials to be used in the design of the project meet HIPAA requirements for release of confidential protected health information (PHI).

      10.03 Policy for Proprietary Control of Photography, Videography, and Artistic Design: Designs created by the Division of Visual and Instructional Design are billable to the customer based on the number of uses and remain under the proprietary control of the division. The Division of Visual and Instructional Design is a self-supporting, cost-recovery entity within Georgia Health Sciences University Office of Academic Affair. Photography, videography, medical illustration and graphic design are created by the artists and delivered to the customer. Customers are billed on an hourly basis to cover the cost of salaries, benefits, travel, supplies, and training of employees of the division.

      10.04 Policy for Use of Copyrighted Materials: Customers of the Division of Visual and Instructional Design are responsible for obtaining appropriate permission for use of all copyrighted materials submitted to the unit.

      PurposeThe policies and procedures are relative to the Division of Visual and Instructional Design. The Division of Visual and Instructional Design (VID) supports faculty integrating teaching and technology. The unit offers interactive course design, hands-on workshops, rich media integration, online testing services, and professional support. VID provides mplementation of innovative means for delivering and enhancing instruction.

      10.02 Visual and Instructional Design Policies: Division Administration: The Division of Visual and Instructional Design is a self-supporting, cost-recovery entity vvithin Georgia Health Sciences University Office of Academic Affairs. Art and design produced by the unit is billed to the project director/department requesting the service. Charges are based on actual amounts of time required to complete the project. The division posts per-hour charges and vvill provide customers vvith cost estimates upon customer request, based on the artist's understanding of the scope of the work requested.
