      9.07 Policy for Responding To Allegations of Research Misconduct: The purpose of this policy and procedures is to promote the integrity of research conduct on behalf of the Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU or Institution) by its faculty, technical staff, residents, fellows, students, trainees, and individuals employed on a contractual basis by providing a process for close scrutiny of alleged research misconduct, for full protection of the rights of any person accused of research misconduct, and for the protection of any person who makes allegations under this policy in good faith. This policy is intended to carry out the Institution's responsibilities under the Public Health Service (PHS) Policies on Research Misconduct, 42 CFR Part 93.

The Office of Academic Admissions in the Division of Enrollment Management processes applicant materials for the College of Graduate Studies, the College of Allied Health Sciences, and the College of Nursing. The College of Medicine (Georgia Health Sciences University) and the College of Dental Medicine each have their own admissions departments within their respective college.

      2.16 International Education Study Abroad Policy: All international education or study abroad programs for which students receive credit towards the fulfillment of their degree program at the Georgia Health Sciences University require institutional oversight by a designated institutional official (Director of Outreach & International Education). This includes programs administered by Georgia Health Sciences University faculty or staff and non-Georgia Health Sciences University-sponsored programs for which students receive academic course credit. The Director of Outreach & International Education is responsible for initial review and evaluation of credit-bearing proposals for international education/study abroad experiences and for initiating the appropriate approval process by the Provost or his/her designee, according to Board of Regents policy. The Director of Outreach & International Education will act as the primary contact and resource for the GHSU community on international education/study abroad concerns.

      6.09 Campus Review Body Policy: The Campus Review Body (CRB) is a centralized, institutional panel utilized at the President's discretion to review the due process afforded to a student Vllho has been sanctioned due to misconduct or academic failure, or by students vvith a grievance against a faculty for perceived infringement on their rights to freely express themselves. As necessary, the panel may hold any necessary hearings during the process to assist in rendering an appellate decision by the President.

      6.15 Immunization Policy: The specific minimum immunization requirements at Georgia Health Sciences University are established by Board of Regents policy, which is periodically reviewed and modified. The Board of Regents policy allows Georgia Health Sciences University to enhance these requirements with the concurrence of the Chancellor of the University System of Georgia. Georgia Health Sciences University's specific immunization requirements are also periodically reviewed and modified. With the concurrence of the President of Georgia Health Sciences University and Chancellor of the University System of Georgia, individual colleges may require additional immunizations. All entering Georgia Health Sciences University students must provide the Georgia Health Sciences University Student Health Service (Student Health) with sufficient evidence that they are fully immunized and/or have proof of immunity with serological titer against Mumps, Rubella (German Measles), Rubeola (Red Measles), Polio, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Hepatitis Band Varicella (Chicken Pox). Students are also required to have had a PPD (tuberculin test) within three months prior to the first day of class at Georgia Health Sciences University and annually thereafter.

      4.05 Class Attendance Policy: Regular, punctual attendance is expected of students in all classes at Georgia Health Sciences University and is counted from the first class meeting each term. Students who incur an excessive number of absences are subject to academic penalty.       2.02 Approval of Centers & Institutes Policy:: Under certain circumstances, Centers and Institutes are formed within universities to achieve specific objectives. This policy outlines the procedures by which a Center or Institute can be formed within the existing university structure at Georgia Health Sciences University, so that the Center/Institute complements institutional function while permitting the unique, harmonious, and effective operation of the Institute/Center. Any program at Georgia Health Sciences University using the terminology “Center” or “Institute” in its name must be approved by the President. In addition, this policy describes the organization and governance of Institutes and Centers at Georgia Health Sciences University
