Temporary Employment PolicyTemporary employees shall be employed for a period no longer than six calendar months; however, such temporary employment may be extended up to an additional six months if the appropriate employing supervisor or department head needs the services of that individual subject to the approval of the chief business officer of the institution or his/her designated representative. Once an individual has served as a “temporary” employee for a twelve month period he/she shall not thereafter be employed as a “temporary” employee until a period of thirty calendar days has elapsed. All student assistants shall be and are classified as “temporary”, and employment as student assistants shall not be subject to the reemployment restriction outlined above.

Policy for Suspension of Faculty for Violation of State or Federal Laws7.26 Policy for Suspension of Faculty for Violation of State or Federal Laws:When a faculty member at Georgia Health Sciences University is charged with the violation of a state or federal law, or is indicted for any such offense, the President of Georgia Health Sciences University shall carry out a thorough review of the circumstances. This policy describes the process to be followed should the above occur as set forth by the Policy Manual of the Board of Regents, Section 803.1 0.04.

Mobile Device and Remote Access PolicyGeorgia Health Sciences Medical Center (GHSMC), Georgia Health Sciences Medical Associates (GHSMA), and Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU), collectively “GHS” discourages the storage of electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI) as well as other forms of confidential information on mobile devices. Policy for Responding To Allegations of Research Misconduct9.07 Policy for Responding To Allegations of Research Misconduct: The purpose of this policy and procedures is to promote the integrity of research conduct on behalf of the Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU or Institution) by its faculty, technical staff, residents, fellows, students, trainees, and individuals employed on a contractual basis by providing a process for close scrutiny of alleged research misconduct, for full protection of the rights of any person accused of research misconduct, and for the protection of any person who makes allegations under this policy in good faith. This policy is intended to carry out the Institution's responsibilities under the Public Health Service (PHS) Policies on Research Misconduct, 42 CFR Part 93.

Substantive Change PolicyGeorgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) is responsible for compliance with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (Commission) Substantive Change Policy as a condition of continued regional accreditation. Substantive change is defined by the Commission as “a significant modification or expansion of the nature and scope of an accredited institution.” Some changes, such as offering courses on-line that amount to less than 25% of the coursework needed to complete a degree, certificate or diploma, do not need to be reported to the Commission. Others, such as offering from 25% to 49% of the coursework required for a program on-line, simply require that the Commission be notified in advance of the implementation of the change. Larger scale changes, such as adding significantly different programs to the academic curriculum or offering a majority of the coursework needed to complete a degree, certificate or diploma on-line, require written notification at least 6 months in advance and approval of a prospectus, which must be submitted at least 3 months prior to the anticipated implementation date. Institutions seeking to offer coursework at a more advanced level than that for which they are currently approved must notify the Commission of their intent at least 12 months in advance, and submit an application for level change by April 15 for review at the June meeting of the Board of trustees or by October 1 for review at the December meeting.
